Day by day

  1. 1

Arrive in Srinagar and take a winter shikara ride

Our driver meets you at Srinagar Airport and takes you to your hotel. After tea, take a one-hour shikara ride on Dal Lake before the early winter sunset, with the snowy Zabarwan hills behind you. Overnight in Srinagar.

  2. 2

Srinagar to Gulmarg and the Gondola

Drive about two hours to Gulmarg, a meadow basin at about 2,730 m that turns into a snow field in winter. Our driver fits snow chains when the road needs them. Ride the Gondola to Kongdoori (Phase 1), then play in the snow or try a sledge ride. Overnight in Gulmarg.

  3. 3

A full snow day in Gulmarg

Ride to Apharwat (Phase 2) if the weather allows. Try skiing with a local instructor, sledging or a snow walk, and warm up in your hotel whenever you like. Overnight in Gulmarg.

  4. 4

Gulmarg to Pahalgam through the Kashmir countryside

Drive about five hours with stops via Pampore and the Awantipora ruins. The saffron fields lie dormant in winter, and the valley looks quiet and frosty. Walk beside the Lidder River on arrival. Overnight in Pahalgam.

  5. 5

Pahalgam snow views, then back to Srinagar

Visit Betaab Valley, Aru Valley and Chandanwari by local taxi, as far as the snow and roads allow. Then drive about three hours to Srinagar and stroll Boulevard Road. Overnight in Srinagar.

  6. 6

After breakfast, transfer to Srinagar Airport. For flights after 1 pm, we add a morning stop at Chashme Shahi or the Old City.

Good to know

Can this itinerary be changed?

Yes. Dates, hotels, the order of places and the number of nights can all be adjusted. Your coordinator sends you the revised plan.

Are airport transfers included?

Yes. Our driver meets you at Srinagar Airport and drops you back for your departure.

What is the cancellation policy?

Terms depend on your booking date and the services booked. Read our booking policies or ask your coordinator.

Does the package include flights?

No. You book flights separately, and we meet you at Srinagar Airport.

How do I reach Kashmir for this package?

Most travellers fly to Srinagar Airport (SXR). Flights from Delhi take under two hours, and direct or one-stop flights connect other major cities. Arriving in Jammu or Katra? We arrange a road pickup from Jammu Tawi station or Jammu Airport on request.

Which is the best time for a Kashmir winter tour package?

December to February gives the most reliable snow in Gulmarg and Pahalgam. March is milder, with thinner snow at lower stops.

Does Gulmarg get snow every winter?

Gulmarg usually holds snow from December to March, and January and February are the deepest months. Snow depth changes each year, so we confirm conditions before you travel.

Is the Gulmarg Gondola included in this snow package?

No. Tickets are paid directly. Phase 2 can close in high wind or heavy snowfall, so we plan Phase 1 and the meadows as the base.

Is skiing included?

No. Skiing lessons, gear and sledge rides are arranged on site. Beginners ski with a local instructor, and we help you book.

Which places does this Kashmir snow tour package cover?

It covers Dal Lake, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and the Srinagar market streets.

What happens if snow closes a road?

We switch to a safe alternative, such as extra time in Gulmarg or the Srinagar sights. Your coordinator stays in touch through the trip, and the plan changes with the weather.

Does the package include Sonamarg?

Not in the base plan. The Sonamarg road often closes in heavy snow, so we add it only when conditions allow.

Is this winter trip suitable for children and senior travellers?

Yes, with care. Nights fall below freezing in Gulmarg. Check with your doctor if anyone has heart or breathing conditions, and tell us the ages in your group.

What should I pack for Kashmir in winter?

Pack thermals, a waterproof jacket, gloves, a woollen cap and boots with good grip. You can rent snow boots and ski gear in Gulmarg.
