Good to know
Can this itinerary be changed?
Yes. Dates, hotels, the order of places and the number of nights can all be adjusted. Your coordinator sends you the revised plan.
Are airport transfers included?
Yes. Our driver meets you at Jammu Airport or Jammu Tawi Station and drops you back for your departure.
What is the cancellation policy?
Terms depend on your booking date and the services booked. Read our booking policies or ask your coordinator.
Does the package include flights?
No. You book flights or train tickets separately, and we meet you at Jammu.
How do I reach Katra for this package?
Most travellers fly to Jammu Airport (IXJ), about 50 km from Katra, or take a train to Jammu Tawi. Katra railway station also has direct trains from Delhi and other cities. Coming from Srinagar? We arrange a road transfer on request.
How many days do you need for Vaishno Devi?
Three nights and four days give you an arrival night, a full darshan day and a rest day before you travel on. Add a night if you want to stay near the Bhawan or visit more temples around Katra.
Which places does this Vaishno Devi tour package cover?
It covers Katra, the Vaishno Devi Bhawan, Bhairon Temple, Raghunath Temple and Bahu Fort in Jammu.
Is yatra registration compulsory?
Yes. Registration is free and compulsory for every pilgrim, and you need an RFID yatra card before you start. Register on the Shrine Board website or app, or at the counters in Katra. We guide you through each step.
How long is the Vaishno Devi trek?
The trek runs about 12 to 13 km each way from Katra to the Bhawan. Most walkers take six to eight hours to go up. The descent is quicker but hard on the knees, so walk slowly, rest often and carry water.
Is the helicopter included?
No. The Shrine Board flies helicopters from Katra to Sanjichhat, and you book tickets on its official website. Seats sell out early, and flights stop in bad weather. Carry a valid photo ID.
Can senior travellers do the yatra?
Yes. Senior travellers can ride a battery car (the Shrine Board offers online booking for visitors above 50), a pony, a palki or the helicopter. Rest well on Day 1, and ask your doctor first if you have heart, breathing or knee problems.
Do you visit Bhairon Temple?
Yes. Many pilgrims visit Bhairon Temple after the Bhawan darshan. You can walk up or take the ropeway from the Bhawan.
What is the best time for a Vaishno Devi yatra package?
October to March brings cool, comfortable weather, and snow can fall near the Bhawan in January and February. April to June is hot, and July to September brings rain and landslide risk. Navratri and school holidays are the busiest weeks, so book early.
What happens if the yatra pauses for weather?
The Shrine Board can pause the yatra in heavy rain or landslide risk. We move your darshan to the next safe day and adjust your stay. Your coordinator stays in touch through the trip.
What should I carry for the yatra?
Wear comfortable walking shoes and carry a small bag, water, your photo ID and your RFID card. Pack woollens from November to February. Phones, cameras and large bags cannot enter the cave, and the cloakrooms near the shrine hold them.
Can I add Kashmir to this trip?
Yes. We extend your plan by road to Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Ask your coordinator for the revised plan.
