Day by day

  1. 1

    Arrive in Leh and rest

Our driver meets you at Leh Airport and takes you to your hotel. Leh sits at about 3,500 m, so you rest, drink plenty of water and keep the day easy. Walk to the nearby market only if you feel fine. Overnight in Leh.

  2. 2

Leh sightseeing at a gentle pace

Visit Spituk Monastery and Leh Palace, then watch the sunset from Shanti Stupa. The short drives let your body keep adjusting before the high passes. Overnight in Leh.

  3. 3

Leh to Nubra Valley over Khardung La

Drive about five to six hours over Khardung La at about 5,359 m. Stay at the pass for 15 to 20 minutes only, because the air is thin. Visit Diskit Monastery and its giant Maitreya Buddha, then walk the Hunder sand dunes at sunset. Ride a Bactrian camel if you like. Overnight in Nubra.

  4. 4

    Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake

Drive about six to seven hours via the Shyok route to Pangong Lake at about 4,350 m. Watch the water shift from turquoise to deep blue, then stay for sunset and a sky full of stars. Nights are cold, so keep your warm layers handy. If the Shyok road closes, we take you back through Leh and reach Pangong via Chang La the next day. Overnight at Pangong.

  5. 5

Pangong Lake to Leh via Chang La

Catch the sunrise on the shore, then drive about five to six hours over Chang La at about 5,360 m. On the way, stop at Shey Palace, the school made famous by 3 Idiots and Thiksey Monastery. Overnight in Leh.

  6. 6

    Leh sights and shopping

Visit the Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and Magnetic Hill. Then watch the Indus and Zanskar rivers meet at Sangam. In the evening, shop for pashmina, dry apricots and Ladakhi handicrafts in Leh market. Overnight in Leh.

  7. 7

Good to know

Can this itinerary be changed?

Yes. Dates, hotels, the order of places and the number of nights can all be adjusted. Your coordinator sends you the revised plan.

Are airport transfers included?

Yes. Our driver meets you at Leh Airport and drops you back for your departure.

What is the cancellation policy?

Terms depend on your booking date and the services booked. Read our booking policies or ask your coordinator.

Does the package include flights?

No. You book flights separately, and we meet you at Leh Airport.

How do I reach Ladakh for this package?

Most travellers fly to Leh Airport (IXL). Flights from Delhi take under two hours, and other cities connect through Delhi. Coming from Srinagar? We arrange a road transfer from Srinagar to Leh on request, usually with a night in Kargil.

How many days do you need for Leh Ladakh?

Six nights and seven days cover Leh, Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake at a comfortable pace, with a rest day for altitude. Add two nights if you want Turtuk or Tso Moriri.

Which places does this Leh Nubra Pangong tour package cover?

It covers Leh, Khardung La, Diskit, Hunder, Pangong Lake, Shey, Thiksey and Sangam.

What is the best time for a Ladakh 7 days package?

June to September brings the warmest weather and the most reliable roads. May and early October are colder, with snow near the passes.

How do you handle altitude sickness on this trip?

We plan two nights in Leh before you cross Khardung La. Rest on arrival, drink plenty of water and skip alcohol on the first days. Ask your doctor about altitude medicine before you travel, and tell your driver at once if you get a headache or feel dizzy.

Do I need a permit for Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake?

Yes, both areas need paperwork. Indian travellers pay a Ladakh environment fee, and foreign nationals need a Protected Area Permit. We arrange the paperwork, and you pay the fees directly. Carry a valid photo ID.

What are the camps at Pangong Lake like?

Pangong camps offer simple beds, warm blankets and hot meals. Facilities are basic, and nights drop close to freezing even in summer, so pack warm layers.

Will my mobile phone work in Ladakh?

Postpaid SIMs from Airtel, Jio and BSNL work in Leh, and prepaid SIMs from outside J&K do not. The signal is patchy in Nubra and Pangong.

What happens if weather or a landslide closes a road?

We change the order of the days or swap a stop for a safe alternative. Your coordinator stays in touch through the trip and explains every change.

Is this trip suitable for children and senior travellers?

Yes, with care. The route has long drives at high altitude. Check with your doctor first if anyone has heart, lung or blood pressure conditions, and tell us the ages in your group.
